BackSardinia Success for Region 2

Mediterranean Open Championships 2011

Region 2 (Hertfordshire) sent 2 students to compete at the Med Open in Sardinia. This was an event of 2's!  - 2 Competitors, both obtaining 2 medals!

This was Miss Nicola Barke's first competition outside of the UK. Recently promoted to 1st kup, Miss Barke competed in Sparring in a category ranging from 2nd kup to 2nd Degree Black Belt. After pushing the final to a draw twice, Miss Barke hit home with 'first-point' scored to win the Gold. In the patterns tournament Miss Barke won through several rounds to gain a Silver.

Dr Parker also competed in the senior category against a fellow UK student and secured a Gold for Patterns and Gold for Sparring.

An excellent few days in Sardinia, with a fun competition meeting new and old friends. Well done Region 2!
