Dear Imperial Member

I am pleased to take a little time to reflect on the success of our past year.  2009 saw successful development of clubs and a clear shape forming in regions.  Competitions were well attended in our nationals, being Wales, Scotland and England, our regional events, Cornwall and Team Challenge, and, of course our British Championships which drew international participation.  Our guests were effusive in their appreciation of the welcome they received and the professionalism and quality of competition.  In travelling, the Imperial were rewarded with an outstanding performance at the ITF European Championships in Croatia, returning home with a number of individual European titles.  As part of England ITF, Imperial members also gained team medals, including that of Best Overall Country.

I appreciate the dedication of our seniors who have travelled extensively to train and continue their personal development in Taekwon-Do - this gives all our members confidence in the integrity of their instructors.  Our links with Partner organisations have increased and strengthened.  Developments in administration and on-line services have seen improvements in club administration and financial benefits to all club instructors.

This new year starts with an Instructors' meeting - a chance to listen and share ideas for development.  Dates have been set for competitions in Wales, Scotland, Cornwall, the Team Challenge and the British Championships.  Regional training is on schedule for World Championship selections.  The ITF World Championships will be held in Korea in July, timed to coincide with the World Taekwon-Do Festival.  I look forward to seeing the regions develop in organisation and character.  This will further enhance the communication and administration of Imperial Taekwon-Do Association.

Thank you.

Trevor Nicholls
