BackMessage from GM Nicholls

31st March 2020

To:       All UK ITF Instructors

As we launch into the second week of lockdown, it is all our hopes that these measures will slow down the spread of this disease.

On Friday 20th March, when all our schools, gyms and dojangs were closed, whilst expected it was also a shock.  This shock was received in so many ways, from loss of living, families and our responsibilities to them, protection of the vulnerable and, of course, keeping ourselves safe.

This message is to hopefully find ourselves into the ‘managed’ stage.  We are all more aware of what is needed to bring this disease under control.  Taking on board this managed stage, it is my request from you all that you use this instructors’ forum to assist, help or just give that contact confirming that we are here to help each other, our members and all of the people within our communities.

Stay safe, stay at home.  Whilst we congratulate our NHS workers, let’s not forget all the other key workers making our lives possible at this time:  retail workers, teachers, NHS support staff, refuse collection, all our tradesmen on call-out, transport workers and there are many more.  It would be worthwhile on your own social media sites thanking these people, and the ones I have missed, acknowledging their dedication and care at this time.

Sincerely

Trevor Nicholls
