Trenic Taekwon-Do Academy Poole opened on 14th July 2014 and is a member of Trenic Taekwon-Do Academies. We are excited to be in our new venue as of September 2023: Unit 95, 2 Beta Centre, 262 Ringwood Road, Poole, BH14 0RS. The unit will soon be refurbished to echo the presentation of our main centre in Harlington, Middlesex.
Trenic Taekwon-Do Academy Poole's regular instructor is Ms Terry Humphries, 5th Degree, who has many years' experience in teaching children, young people and adults with a range of abilities and ambitions in Taekwon-Do and self-defence.
Trenic Taekwon-Do Academies are proud members of UK ITF, which is in membership of the British Taekwondo Council (BTC), an NGB recognised by Sport England, SportNI, Sport Scotland and Sport Wales. All Trenic instructors are NGB Registered Instructors, which accreditation requires regular training and updates to Enhanced DBS/PVG/AccessNI checks, Safeguarding training to NSPCC/CPSU (Advanced) and Ann Craft Trust (ACT) national frameworks for the protection of children and adults in sport, Code of Conduct and Ethics, Equity, Health and Safety, Communications and Social Media, Disciplinary policies, first aid qualification and professional indemnity insurance.
Our Chief Instructor is GM Trevor Nicholls IX who has been a student for some 50 years and teaches regularly at club, regional, national and international level. He is very active in the development and promotion of Taekwon-Do through the International Taekwon-Do Federation, under the Presidency of Choi, Jung Hwa, son the Choi, Hong Hi, the Founder of Taekwon-Do. Master Nicholls is Vice President and Secretary General of the ITF.
Taekwon-Do is a modern Korean martial art, based on the tenets of Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit.
The delivery of UK ITF Taekwon-Do is aimed at encouraging participation by people of all ages and abilities. UK ITF is a long-established, professional organisation, with all instructors NGB accredited. UK ITF offers development opportunities to all clubs and members (students and instructors) through regional, national and international events and competitions, instructor and umpire qualifications as well as the traditional grading syllabus.
