Region 5 STOMP

WOW, what an amazing turnout for this year’s Region 5 STOMP.....3 Instructors Mrs Paulson (HART TKD) – who runs clubs for both Wollaton Generation X & TKD, Mr Hallam (Ilkeston TKD)– who also runs clubs for both Ilkeston Generation X & TKD and Mr Wilson (Belper TKDA) – Belper & Tibshelf TKD.

The STOMP this year was held at Mrs Paulson’s (HART TKD)venue at Wollaton Vale Community Centre. 2 rings were running for both high kick and speed test, whilst to encourage the 30 second BASH (Generation X), patterns and sparring for all generation X and TKD competitors 1 ring was running to have full support by our spectators, family and friends. In total we had 25 TKD entrants, and 11 Generation X students.


All officials met at 9am and were assigned duties throughout the day, from myself (STOMP organiser). After the opening speech anda group photograph of all competitors the tournament started at 10am.


WOW what a start, the Generation X and TKD studentskicked off the day with the high kick were only 1 GOLD medal was up for grabs. Categorieswere divided having 2 categories for Generation X and 2 categories for TKD.

Following the high kick was the speed test. Categoriesare divided by simply lining all students in a line and dividing them into 2 lines to work in pairs to see who is the fastest at hitting the pad.


Medals given out were gold, silver and 2 bronzes.

After the high kick and speed test events the Generation
