A fantastic evening was had by all at Turnberries on Saturday 19th December where UK ITF Region 7, Thornbury TKD held the annual club presentation awards and Christmas celebration. Over sixty people attended and it was great to see everyone enjoy themselves at such a successful event. Following a three course Christmas meal, the annual awards were presented to the following students, who thoroughly deserved the recognition for their outstanding contribution to the club.

Students Student of the Year. Glyn Williams.
Student of the Year. Jon McEachern.
Most Improved Student. Matthew Jefferies.


Colour Belt Category:
Student of the Year. George Holdstock.
Competitor of the Year. Grace Leppard.
Most improved Student. Jamie Simms.


Thank-you gifts were also presented to the Assistant Instructors; Kim Denton, Kieran McDermott and Lindsay Broughton. Also for the outstanding contribution to the club from the following supporters; Sam Williams, Debbie Buxton and Nicky McDermott. A presentation was also made by Mr Leppard to Mr Buxton, highlighting the exceptional commitment to coaching students resulting in achieving excellent standards of performance and behaviour.


Following the presentations and congratulations to all, a raffle was held to raise funds for Region 7 for those that may require sponsorship in the future. There were many fantastic prizes on offer, donated by students, supporters and external companies. Prizes on offer consisted of, A GoPro Camera, Vouchers for shopping and pampering, Sparring Equipment, A Christmas hamper to name just a few. Tickets went on sale early with everyone snapping them up, hoping to win one of the fantastic prizes. After a last push on the night, the total raised was an incredible £675 for the UK ITF Region 7. The following disco meant the rest of the evening was enjoyed in a brilliant atmosphere by everyone who attended into the early hours!
