UK ITF student Emily Oakes is awarded Junior Sports Achiever 2013/14.

Emily who lives in Cheshire, joined Stoke Gifford TKD last year after her instructor left the UK ITF. She travels down weekly to train with UK ITF Region 7 & Stoke Gifford TKD. She was awarded this prestigious title on 27th March from the Cheshire Sports Council.

Emily was put forward against other juniors normally nominated by their school (Emily’s school nominated three),She was shortlisted to just three people in the region, an Alpine Skier who represents GB in winter sport specializing in cross country ski events, and the captain of Team GB’s handball team.Emily was presented a trophy to keep for one year, and a glass trophy accompanied with a certificate to keep.The most notable previous winner was probably Beth Tweddle in 2002.

The award was given to Emily on the results she has achieved with Taekwon-do, noting her results at the Euro’s, her results at inter-school level competition in Netball, Badminton, cross country and athletics, and a note was also made in regard to training at Stoke Gifford TKD in Bristol.
