Three men and a dog!
The coast to coast walk is approximately 192 miles across northern England, devised by Alfred Wainwright. It passes through three contrasting National Parks; the Lake District; the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors. The coast to coast walk ascends and of course decents as much as Mount Everest. The trek starts at St Bees on the west coast and finishes on the east coast at Robin Hood Bay.
Yogi Chand, Andy Long and Reuban Sokhi will undertake this challenge, on the 11th-18th May 2013, in order to raise money for the MS Therapy Centre, Barker''''s Lane, Bedford. They will carry all their own equipment (approx. 25-30kgs) and aim to walk 30miles a day, completing the overall distance in under a week. This would usually take around 14 days! They are hoping to raise in the region of £2000.
... Yogi Chand and Reuban Sokhi, through the Chand Institute of Taekwon-Do, have been raising funds for the MS charity for a number of years and on this occasion, have teamed up with Andy Long, from Andy Long Plastering, to take up this challenge!
Multiple Sclerosis is a progressive condition affecting the central nervous system. It strikes both men and women at random and without warning, often in the prime of life. Symptoms include: severe problems with balance; limb function and movement; massive fatigue; visual impairment and speech difficulties. There is no cure but much can be done to manage the symptoms.
If you would like to sponsor this event, donations can be pledged directly with the MS Therapy Centre or by contacting Emma Wren, through our facebook page: www.facebook.com/citkd; where our progress will also be updated.See More
