Junior boys & girls started thier team events, with the girls putting in a 4 person team in the sparring & the boys fielding a full team for both patterns & sparring. The girls were up against Austrailia first round & put in a great perfomance with two wins & two losses, however because they were one competitor down they had to forefit a fight which left them with two three loss. The boys had a tough draw in the patterns coming up against Argentina 1st round, they put in two really solid patterns but unfortunatly did not progress to the next round. Next up was sparring for them & they had USA first round. The boys put in really strong performances & won three fights in four so didn''t even need to use their last man & comfortably moved into the next round agaist Italy. Three boys put in really strong efforts against an experienced Italian team, but were not succesful with wins so did not progress to the next round. Well done to all the junior teams who put in a really great effort.
Competition continues today with the adult events. Good luck to all!
