On Saturday 9th June students from Yiewsley Academy were invited to attend the carnival in the park in Yiewsley. Under the guidance of instructors Mr Brunger and Mr Dempsey, along with the support of some very helpful students, the club demonstrated an exciting Taekwon-Do display in front of the Mayor and passers-by. This was a great opportunity to raise awareness of our Taekwon-Do academies and ideal time to help raise funds for the Wold Championships in Canada later in the year. With a selection of activities including press-up challenges and quick kicking competitions the stall attracted a lot of attention and gave students from the age of 5yrs the chance to show of all their Taekwon-Do skills to the public.
Yiewsley Taekwon-Do would like to thank Yiewsley and West Drayton Town Centre Action Group for offering us the chance to set up a stall, all the students that were willing to come down in their own time to help support the club and a special thanks to Fran Almeida-Davis for providing the gazebo and taking photos throughout the day.
