On Sunday 18th Feb 2012 the Richards TKD crew arrived at the Penarth Leisure Centre with great anticipation of another exciting day of competition ahead of us.
After the weigh in and registration the competition got underway with the black belt patterns divisions. Its always a pleasure to see all the students competing after all their hard work. Standards were extremely high once again and they had to produce their best performances to win a medal.

Paige Povey : Gold 1st Degree adult Female Patterns
On to the sparring and again some really hard fought categories and everyone cheering their club mates or team mates on. The atmosphere was electric as the competitors battled against each other, especially those who are qualifying for the World Championships in Canada Later this year. Once again some brilliant results for Region 4.

Then came the turn of the kup grades and there were some fantastic performances by all and resulted in more medals for Richards Tkd !

And last but certainly not least Kevin Everett Gold senior male 4th kup patterns and Gold senior male Middle weight sparring !!
Destruction and special technique bought us a Bronze for adult male power by Josh Worton, Gold Junior female power by Beth Martin, Silver junior male power by Adam Everett and Silver junior male special technique by Sam Richards.
We are also very proud of Jake Cook who just missed out on a medal but gave some really good performances.
Total tally from 13 competitors was 25 medals 12 Gold, 8 Silver and 5 bronze. So well done to all !!
