HSTS achieved great success at the UK ITF Welsh championships over the weekend. Held at Penarth Leisure Centre, just outside of Cardiff, the competition saw 18 competitors from Hitchin and Stevenage reach an outstanding total of 25 medals, consisting of 12 golds, 2 silvers and 11 bronzes.

The competition is the first in a year that will see taekwondo students travel extensively around the UK to take part in the Scottish, English and British championships, as well as the UKITF team challenge and the 3rd place play-offs, which will see hundreds of martial artists battle to take part in the World Championships, to be held in Canada later this year.

Instructor Mr Horan said " It''''s great to see all the effort the students put in week in week out starting to pay off". "We have some way to go, but we are getting there"!

The competition is clearly a good start to what will no doubt be an outstanding and proud year for its competitors and their coaches.
