Sunday 19th February started clear and sunny for SGTKD''s trip over the Severn Bridge to join TKD clubs from all over the country in Cardiff for the UKITF Welsh Championship. We were represented by 19 students in what was for some a regular event and for others their first national competition.

By 9am the hall of Penarth Leisure Centre was already packed with competitors, officials and spectators so we knew it was going to be a busy day! Right from the start the great organisation kept all the rings and officials busy and the championship moving swiftly along. The display of what was happening "now and next" on each ring was a huge help to those waiting to compete and those watching and supporting.

SGTKD had a very successful day with all students from black belt to white belt achieving medals in patterns, sparring and power, proving that all the hard work put in during training was well worth it!

Well done to all those who took part and many thanks to those who came to give their support. Thanks also to Miss Burridge, Alison May, Mr Richards, Mrs Richards, Salli and Glyn Chapman and all the masters who contributed so much time to ensure the day ran smoothly.

We are looking forward to our next trip up to Scotland. Here''s hoping it is as successful as the Welsh!
