Saturday 7th January saw what has become Stoke Gifford Taekwon-Do''s annual start to the New Year with a trip to the south west''s largest outdoor ice rink at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol.
It was a great turn out from the club with young and old alike either braving the ice to skate or the low temperatures to watch.
After a few tentative steps on the ice it wasn''t long before some of the youngsters were chasing each other around, with the odd pause to help each other up when gravity took control!
The ice rink provided plastic seals for those a little unsure on the slippery surface and it turned out that SGTKD also provided help, we had a Billy who was a strong seal pusher and a helping hand for some of the younger members of the club! Thanks Billy!
An hour quickly passed and the skaters left the ice a lot warmer than when they arrived and having thoroughly enjoyed themselves whilst those watching, who had been cheering on enthusiastically, were quite frozen!
Fortunately there were no broken bones or serious injuries and we hope the "sores" left by rubbing boots don''t leave too many scars!
It was a great start to what will hopefully be a great year for Stoke Gifford TKD.
Happy New Year to all in UKITF !
