The seminar started with an electrifying energy that was to last for the rest of the evening. 80 students of varying levels and ages had come together to see Master Choi instruct and perform, they were not disappointed. Master Nicholls started with basic kicking and punching drills to warm up the group and set the pace for the evening.

Soon Master Choi was on to the importance of acceleration and more importantly how to initially get the power up to speed. We looked at Chon ji and Do San, and picked out the moves that would allow us to practice this theory in its most obvious form. We were soon launching ourselves into back fists using maximum but natural hip twist.

The highlight of the evening was to see Master Choi demonstrate turning kick with all the characteristics of a truly learnt skill; efficient, effortless and seamless. It was then our turn to kick the pads and use the whole body to deliver a devastating blow.

All too soon the evening was over but I am sure the memories will remain with us for a long time. Mr Chand and Ms Sargeant presented Master Choi with a plate, made by Ms Sargeant herself, inscribed with General Choi''s calligraphy.

The banquet treated the participants to another highlight as Master Choi moved around tables to pose for photographs.
