On the 19th March South East Region hosted its first Stomp of the year. With over 115 competitiors it was due to be a good one and we certainly were not disappointed. The tournament started with a warm welcome to the Generation X students in the morning. A minutes silence was also observed in respect to our brothers and sisters in Japan. The Generation X students wowed us with what they have been learning in the last few months with a fine display of 30second patterns. This got the crowd cheering as our youngest competitiors worked their way through their moves. Next up was the Generation X sparring which had the Instructors and Officials well on their toes fitting pads and in some cases begging, borrowing and stealing to ensure that the students were ready to fight. Once again, a fine display by all! The afternoon saw the start of the Cadet''s tournament and the performance of traditional patterns. This year ''Super Leagues'' were also introduced in some sparring categories to test the mettle of our Cadet Squad members. Some very good battles were witnessed and well deserved medals were gained. In all an exceptionally good day was had by all. All students received a participation certificate and wrist band for their efforts. Whilst all parents and instructors were happy to go home at 4pm. (A very respectable time for a competition, I''m sure you will agree). Thank you to all competitiors, instructors, parents and helpers for setting the scene for the next two scheduled later this year.
