I began training in taekwon-do in 1990 with the local tagb club in kilmarnock, ayrshire. My first instructor was Mr Pat mallon who after a few months moved to america and the class was taken over by Mr Thomas Clarke. At it's highest point the club had over 100 members and i have loads of really fond memories of training there. I continued to train with the tagb until i reached the grade of 1st kup and then the class closed down.
At this point there was no taekwon-do classes near me so i joined the local muay thai class and trained there until an itf club opened up locally so i joined that in 1999 as i always enjoyed taekwon-do training more. i graded to 1st dan in 2000 and then 2nd dan in 2003 and 3rd dan in 2006. i recently graded to 4th dan in april 2010.
I opened my 1st class in jan 2001 and have been teaching full time since then and the ayrshire club will be celebrating it's 10 year anniversary this coming january. hopefully the next 10 will be just as enjoyable.
