At 9.30 on one of the wettest weekends on record the students from Richards TKD and Dawlish TKD all came together for what would turn out to be another first class seminar conducted by Master Nicholls President of UKITF and 8th degree.
Master Nicholls arrived at 10 am sharp and was warmly greeted by Mr and Mrs Richards and Mr Peter Hilditch and after a thorough warm up for the students by Mr Sam Richards the seminar was underway.
After Master Nicholls explained all the different types of side kicks and their respective applications the students were split into pairs to practise each one in turn on the kick shields, we then moved on to focus on the differnces between jumping, flying and mid-air kicks once again the students were split into pairs to practice. Master Nicholls took the time to share the benefit of his knowledge with each pair of students which is why Master Nicholls seminars are always so appreciated and well attended, every student from white belt up felt that they learned so much.
When Master Nicholls felt that confident that the understanding of the techniques was there it was time for a recap of the mornings activities and then he invited any questions the students might have.
Once the seminar had ended, which we all agreed had flown by, Mr Richards thanked Master Nicholls for his time and another excellent seminar.
Master Nicholls then very kindly took time to instruct the Richards TKD 4th degrees and, of course, Mr Hilditch in patterns for which we are very grateful then after a short break the scheduled regional degree test got underway and with 100% pass rate it rounded off a perfect day. Many congratulations to all the students who took their respective degree tests.

After a very informative day it was then on to the evening where Mr and Mrs Richards took Master Nicholls out to a local restaurant which turned out to be a good choice as Master Nicholls seemed very impressed with the food and the service. When dinner had finished there was just enough time to discuss the forthcoming trip to Malaysia to conduct an umpires course.

Once again , many thanks to Master Nicholls for the time he took from his busy schedule to conduct the seminar and grading, also thank you to Mr Peter Hilditch and his students for their attendance and support, and look forward to working with you all again in the new year.

Excellent article, many thanks for inviting us down to Cornwall for a fantastic seminar by Master Nicholls, and again thanks to Richards TKD for organising the grading and to Master Nicholls for conducting the seminar and grading the Dawlish / Teignmouth students.
Mr Peter Hilditch
